Public Newsroom #20: Reimagining the Industrial West Side

This spring City Bureau’s West Side team has been looking into the history of the Northwest Incinerator, and questions of environmental justice, land use, and community history in West Humboldt Park, Austin, and West Garfield Park. Join us at this special community event in Garfield Park to learn about the history of the Northwest Incinerator site and play with ways to re-envision its future.
This hands-on community session is part of City Bureau’s #PublicNewsroom programming, a series of free, weekly workshops and discussions aimed at building trust between journalists and the communities they serve while shaping a more inclusive newsroom. Refreshments will be served!
Public Newsroom #20 is hosted in partnership with Illinois Humanities and the Read/Write Library.
