For over 100 years artists and cultural producers have traveled between Chicago and Mexico in pursuit of cultural exchange. In this talk, curator and art historian Mia Lopez discusses notable examples of this intercultural dialogue from the Columbian Exposition through the present day.

Mia Lopez is the Assistant Curator at DePaul Art Museum. She has over 10 years of experience in the arts, most recently as the Curatorial Fellow at the Walker Art Center. She is an alum of the Smithsonian Latino Museum Studies Program and the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture Leadership Institute, and has degrees from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Rice University.
