Panel Discussion: How to Give Life to a Mountain
@ DuSable Museum of African American History
740 E 56th Pl, Chicago, IL 60637
Opening Thursday, March 30th, from 5:30PM - 7:30PM
This installation uses what we call the “Margaret Burroughs Algorithm” to rethink the relationship between institutions and the communities they serve. How do communal interests and concerns translate into institution-building? How do objects act as the language facilitating that translation? We invite you to bring your thoughts and experience to a panel discussion using Bella Bahhs’ poem “How to Give Life to a Mountain in 5 Easy Steps” as the framework for this discussion.
Food & Drinks will be provided and our amazing panelists will lead an intimate roundtable discussion. We also encourage our audience members to participate in the discussion!
Panelists:
Tracie D. Hall
Janice Bond
Heather Ireland Robinson
Rae Chardonnay Taylor
