Opening Saturday, November 5th, from 6PM - 9PM
On view through Monday, December 12th
Population 5 is a large wall painting by Corey Postiglione, one of Chicagoâs most noted abstract painters. As with other large-scale paintings by Postiglione, this work is a bifurcated composition, juxtaposing two equal-sized squares with interwoven curvilinear shapes contrasting black and white with opposing flat and gloss surfaces. The abstraction is informed by Postiglioneâs concern with world population growth and it implications of conflict, scarcity, and interdependence.
Curated by Sandra Binion.
