Chicago’s biggest new music festival — Ear Taxi — will present the US premiere of Naming Things on the 1st Floor Lobby Video Wall in Millenium Park’s Harris Theater. Previous presentations were in Croatia (2015) and Wales (2016).

Naming Things is inspired by a text from Jorge Luis Borges and a philosophical response from Michel Foucault. Recorded fauna are juxtaposed with animal objects and imaginary lifeforms into a fictitious taxonomy whose credibility invites interrogation of how culturally specific systems of categorization and knowledge are imposed and perpetuated.
