Efrain Lopez Gallery is delighted to present PROOON, the first Chicago solo exhibition by Amalie Jakobsen. This is the artist’s first show with the gallery.
You just have to walk around, maybe you’ll see something. A sensory-dictated pursuit with eyes on colour, shape, reflection – your own perhaps… The jarring hard-edge of a colour, the thinness of a sheet of steel, objects reflected on the surface of other objects, you’ll find a freeform of elements sensitively orchestrated in 360 degrees.

Amalie Jakobsen (b. 1989 in DK) lives and works in Berlin, Germany. She holds a BFA from Goldsmith University, London. Recent exhibitions include Gether Contemporary, Copenhagen; Breve, Mexico City; Bosse and Baum, London; DKUK Salon, London; Jeune Création Européenne Biennale. Upcoming presentations include EXPO Chicago IN/SITU, Chicago; and RØM, Copenhagen.
PROOON will be on public viewing at Efrain Lopez Gallery, 901 North Damen Avenue, Chicago, IL 60622 from September 9, 2016 through October 9, 2016. An opening reception will take place on Friday, September 9, 2016 from 6pm to 9pm.
