Cole Lu: Library of The Last Line
@ Roman Susan
1224 West Loyola Avenue, Chicago, IL 60626
Opening Wednesday, July 13th, from 8PM - 10PM
Nothing or almost nothing is an invention of mine; everything in it is implicit in a famous book, and I have merely been the first to reveal, or at least to declare it. –Jorge Luis Borges, The End
Library of The Last Line presents a project by Cole Lu, a pop-up library. Lu is known for her varied, multimedia practice, which articulates a contemporary, fragmented identity. The process of accumulation through literature has been present throughout all of Lu’s works. The pop-up library is a collection of all of the literature that has substantial influence in Lu’s practice. By extracting the last line of the books in the library, Lu also produced a zine entitled Library of The Last Line, available for visitors to both peruse and purchase.
