Opening Friday, April 8th, from 6PM - 9PM

Neighborhood Magic is coming to Ridge Historical Society on April 8 to May 8, 2016. This event continues the public engagement project created for the Beverly Art Walk in 2015 supported by Beverly Arts Alliance. From April 8 to May 8, the public will be invited to post their important moments into the sculptural mail boxes located in the garden of Ridge Historical Society. The Artist, Carron Little, will compose poetry inspired by the important moments and mail the poetry directly to people’s homes. At the opening on April 8, Carron will perform select poems she created for Neighborhood Magic in October 2015. On Thursday, April 14 at 7pm at Ridge Historical Society a screening of a 30 minute film documenting the original Neighborhood Magic performance will be shown.
Neighborhood Magic was created for the Beverly Art Walk in 2015 in collaboration with Beverly Arts Alliance and the artist, Carron Little. Little interviewed eight residents in Beverly over the age of 70 about their life stories. She transcribed the stories into poetry and worked with a choir to compose the poems into song in an intensive rehearsal process.
