Dedicated to the memory and impact of provocative artist and fearless mentor, Barbara DeGenevieve. Her practice, teaching, and research confronted issues regarding the relationship between art and sexuality, gender, trans-sexuality, censorship, ethics, and pornography. A recipient of many prestigious grants and awards, her writing has been published in art, photographic, and scholarly journals, and her work has been exhibited internationally. www.cargocollective.com/degenevieve
This edition of What Would Barbara Do? consists of two exhibitions of video and live performance art. Projects in the exhibition must meet one of three criteria :
⢠Works by Barbara DeGenevieve.
⢠Works by former students and proteges of Barbara DeGenevieve.
⢠Works that Barbara DeGenevieve would champion.
