Danielle Chenette & Krystal DiFronzo: Burnout

The Learning Machine Gallery is pleased to feature “Burnout”, an exhibition of two complementary artists, currently working in Chicago- Danielle Chenette and Krystal DiFronzo. In both its comedic absurdity and tragic horror, the power of disaster in both the interpersonal universe and physical world with be explored by DiFronzo and Chenette.The exhibit will open to the public August 21st at 7pm. Chenette and DiFronzo will also be debuting performance pieces during the opening. The closing reception, on August 28st, will feature a gallery talk with both artists, and also begin at 7pm. The Learning Machine Gallery is located at 3145 Morgan St, Chicago,Il 60608.

Danielle Chenette (b. 1990) is an animator, illustrator, and printmaker originally from Millbury, Massachusetts living, and having worked for the past years in Chicago. This show will be her final exhibit in Chicago before moving to Los Angeles at the end of August. Danielle has self published 4 excellent books in the past 2 years, has appeared in Lumpen and New City, and most recently “Fight or Flight” was published by Clay Hickson’s Tan and Loose Press this past summer. Krystal DiFronzo (b.1989) is a cartoonist dreamboat from Chicago. She received her BFA in Fiber Material Studies and Printmedia from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2012. Her work has appeared in such publications as Lumpen, Happiness Comix, Believed Behavior, and The Lifted Brow as well as in self-published books. She is also currently a member of the experimental performance collaborative Pup House and has worked in several shows directing, performing, and assisting in costume design. The Learning Machine is a gallery and venue, run by a group of multidisciplinary artists, and located in the heart of Bridgeport. By offering a space for emerging and under-represented artists to present their work, LM aims to foster an environment that allows for the sharing of ideas and information through workshops and discussion groups.
