Chelsea Culp: Cloud Illusions I Recall
@ Born Nude
1711 S Halsted St #2, Chicago, IL
Opening Saturday, June 6th, from 6PM - 9PM
On view through Monday, July 6th
Born Nude is pleased to present Cloud Illusions I Recall, works by Chelsea Culp.
Cloud Illusions I Recall likens the architecture of the exhibition to the architecture of the mind, making space for one’s body to wander through representations of meditation and memory.
Take off your shoes and make yourself at home. Please remove your shoes so that we can all go through something together being no more than spirited animals…the body as the vessel of mental function.
Enter a cloud/ the minds’ eye. Works on view in sculpture and painting explore the snowball effect of visual and emotional memory into hieroglyphs> ideographs> pictograms, as navigation tools.
Q: Navigating what?
A: Life on earth, morality or religion, food production = distribution, the art maquette, pattern + vibrational frequency of cells, urban + rural systems, vision(s) + visibility.
