Eternal 2014, a project by Philip von Zweck, is a survey of contemporary international mail art organized to highlight mail art as a progenitor of much contemporary art, especially work in participatory, relational or social practices. Some of the issues and ideas highlighted by mail art/ists and now common place include: the questioning of institutional/ curatorial authority, a critique and circumvention of the market, an emphasis on participation over production, obscuring of authorship by working in collectives or under pseudonyms, and utilization of distribution systems and networks. This exhibition is not curated; in keeping with the mail art ethos all of the works received as response to an open call distributed through the mail art network are included.
Artists include: Beatriz Albuquerque, Anatonia Calabrese, Fleur Helsingor, Holger Hertwig, Andre Pace, Indiana Rogers, Bernhard Zilling, Jonathan Johnson, Anja Mattila-Tolvanen, Phil America, Sanda Simone Schmidt , Jessica Wallis, Andrew Maximillian Niss, Jan Theuninck, Tamara Wyndham, Russell Manning, Daniel de Culle, Daniel Nicolae Djamo, Luciano Da Mota , Simon Warren, Flexitas Citra Wijaya Anggraeni, Wanan Geong, Yonas Arya, Deny Wicaksono, Nurizal Oktaviyanto, Marten Bayu Aji, Falkhi Pamugar, Sumar Hadi Santoso, Andy Setia Putra,Maskhun, Abi Thoyib Norcahyo, Harris, Respati Doddy Setyawan, Trisuci Widodo, Shodan Ramadhan, Ricky Arpanta Surbakti, Endry Dwi Setyawan, Jati Atmojo, Gigih Endra Utama Putra, Enggar Rhomadioni, Gunawan Abhiyoso, Johan Kancut, Ryan Kristianto, Feby Widanarto, Issei Watanabe, Bagus Ahmed Rijai, Wayan Sudarsana , Putu Adi Suanjaya, Wahyu Friandara, Wayan Noviantara, Rangga Jala Pamungleas, Dwi Dian Rajmana, Wahyu Friandana, Ady Rassatya Buwono, Firma Summa, Patria Ari Wijonarko.
