@ Believe Inn
2043 N Winchester Ave, Chicago, IL. 60614
Opening Friday, April 26th, from 6PM - 10PM
On view through Friday, May 31st
Believe Inn presents award winning artist collective, 83ism’s new multi media installation and new paintings by Lauren Feece.
After receiving the juried award for best 3-dimensional work at last year’s ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, 83ism (formerly, ABCD 83) returns to Believe Inn with a fun new collaborative art installation. “NOW SEE HEAR” is a video/sound installation involving over 30 artists. Participants were given templates to work with and asked to submit video content to be projected onto a very minimal sculpture – all with little idea what the other artists may submit. The content will all be arranged into a final edit, including a 4 channel sound mix by sound designer, Zach Goheen. The end result is expected to be an extremely immersive sort of “channel surfing” experience.
Participating artists:
Alberto Aguilar, Anthony Allen, Anthony Esquivel, Anthony Lewellen, Brian Dressel, Brian Steckel, Catie Olson, Chris Silva, Chuck Pryzbyl, Colby Byrn, Dan Ezra Lang, Daniel Bigelow, Edra Soto, Jake Myers, James Jankowiak, Jay Esangga, Jeremy Pettis, Joe Esquivel, John Heenan, Josh Grotto, Julie Murphy, Kenny Klopack, Luftwerk, Madeleine Aguilar, Marc Silva, Marvin Tate, Nicole Antonopulos, Nick Adam, Peter Casey, Prashant Bhargava, Ryan Pohanic, Solo R.M., Thor, Tom Burtonwood, Zach Goheen.
In the rear room of Believe Inn, Lauren Feece will exhibit work from a new series of paintings on canvas. Lauren has returned her focus to magical spaces of abstraction and nature, where she seeks to recapture the sense of depth and resonance she perceives during her most quiet-minded and lucid experiences of reality.
