Ojero: A Character of Culture (Artist Talk & Meet and Greet)
@ Elephant Room, Inc.
704 S Wabash Ave. Chicago, Il 60605
Opening Wednesday, December 12th, from 6PM - 8PM
On view through Saturday, January 5th
Join us for an artist talk between local Chicago artist, Sam Kirk and independent curator and co-founder of Sixty Inches from Center, Tempestt Hazel. A meet & greet with the artist, curator and other artisans involved in the “Ojero: A Character of Culture” exhibition, including Jaime Reda and Zorayda Ortiz, will immediately follow.
As a strong supporter of local artists, Tempestt is the perfect candidate to introduce a dialogue on contemporary art with a rapidly emerging artist like Sam Kirk. Both Sam and Tempestt can offer different perspectives on the Chicago art scene that are extremely relevant to both artists and art professionals. Their roles as emerging curator and artist respectively, give them a unique insight into a broader artistic narrative and give voice to a new generation of artists and art advocates.
