Simultaneously pleasing and disappointing, Love from Scratch is both sweet and sour.

Michael Clifford (b. 1989 Miami) lives and works in Chicago. He received his BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Love From Scratch is his third time showing with CourtneyBlades. Other recent exhibitions include Cocktails 2, Bodega, Philadelphia in 2011, and Today is Special, Sullivan Gallery, Chicago 2012.

Love From Scratch is Michael Clifford’s first solo exhibition. He paints with acrylic on canvas, linen, dropcloth, and panels. His work is incidental, laboriously quick, and preciously considered. His paintings are executed with levity amassing elements of sexuality, loss, and sentimentality.
