Maxwell Colette Gallery is honored to host the Sixth Annual EASTERN, SENTRAL & PACIFIC Show. This tri-coastal graffiti art showcase coincides with The Chicago Meeting of Styles 2012, and features some of the most prolific and respected graffiti style masters on both the national and global scale. Past artists have included graffiti legends like Cornbread (Philadelphia), T-Kid (NYC), and Cope 2 (NYC) alongside local pioneers like Thor and Zore. This year will be no exception, with over 35 talented artists participating including Pure, Keo and Tatu from New York City and Skill and Fearo coming in from Los Angeles.
A complete listing of artists involved in the show can be found on our website www.maxwellcolette.com and on the official Eastern, Sentral & Pacific event page on Facebook.
The EASTERN, SENTRAL & PACIFIC Show was founded in 2006 by Stephanie Garland, a Chicago-based street artist and educator. Garland has curated the show “not as a top 10 play list of artists in heavy rotation but as a favorite mix tape with rare grooves, b-sides, limited editions, and classic standards all in one setting”. By inviting artists from both the East and West coasts she seeks to further establish Chicago as an destination for active contemporary public artists.
The 6th Annual EASTERN, SENTRAL & PACIFIC Show runs for one week only from September 15th through September 22nd. The show presents a variety of graffiti- related fine art and site specific installations in the gallery environment. An opening reception for ESP will take place on Saturday, September 15th from 6pm – 10pm and will feature a selection of artist merchandise available for purchase exclusively at the opening.
